Delvitech is an Innovative and Industrial Company following the Swiss law, focused on high quality inspection systems initially for the electronics industry, mainly automatic optical inspection systems (AOI).For our R&D Team based in Rancate (Switzerland), we are searching for a AI Engineer.

The mechatronics engineer’s responsibilities include improving existing Artificial Intelligence systems, developing new product concepts and prototypes, designing and testing inspection and computer vision systems and developing various automated systems.

You should be able to work within demanding timeframes and develop original, practical solutions to problems. Outstanding candidates draw on a wide range of engineering principles and are not afraid to wander into unchartered territory.

• Research and Development: Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI and machine learning, and apply your knowledge to drive innovation within the company. Conduct research to identify suitable algorithms, models, and technologies for solving complex business problems.
• Algorithm Development: Design, develop, and optimize machine learning and deep learning algorithms to extract insights, patterns, and predictions from data. Leverage various techniques such as neural networks, natural language processing, computer vision, and more.
• Data Processing: Collect, preprocess, and clean large datasets to ensure high data quality for model training and validation. Collaborate with data engineers and data scientists to create robust pipelines for data ingestion and transformation.
• Model Training and Evaluation: Build, train, and fine-tune machine learning models using appropriate frameworks and libraries. Evaluate model performance using relevant metrics and iteratively improve model accuracy and efficiency.
• Deployment and Integration: Implement AI models into production environments, ensuring scalability, reliability, and real-time capabilities. Collaborate with software engineers to integrate AI solutions into existing or new applications.
• Collaborative Problem Solving: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, software developers, domain experts, and product managers, to understand business requirements and translate them into AI solutions.
• Documentation: Maintain clear and detailed documentation of code, algorithms, models, and processes. Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of emerging AI trends, tools, and technologies. Proactively identify opportunities to enhance the AI engineering process and contribute to the company’s intellectual property.

• Degree in a scientific discipline (Master Degree is preferred)

• Python proficiency
• Experience with an Object Oriented programming language (Java preferred)
• Experience with Classical Computer Vision (especially OpenCV)
• Experience with at least one of the major AI frameworks (PyTorch preferred)
• Experience with Neural Networks applied to computer vision and/or time series prediction
• Experience with 3D modeling and 3D reconstruction is a plus
• C++ is a plus
